Switching

The MPT's switching architecture allows high voltage testing at high speed. All switch points are individually addressable and latchable - from any switchpoint, to any other, in either direction. This allows for Mass HiPot testing of complex wiring harnesses and backplanes to ensure that product test time is minimized. When product failure occurs, advanced MPT failure diagnostics minimize rework time and make fault identification simple and quick.

A wide range of switchcards allows every type of testing from high voltage buffered switching to instantaneous discontinuity detection and high-speed, solid-state switching.

Application Specific Switchcards
DMUX-068	Daisy-chained 68-point solid-state 2-wire or 4-wire (programmable per point) switching matrix. Plugs into a paddle card that is specifically designed for the D.U.T. Paddle cards are easily networked by a flat ribbon cable. Requires DMUX-C controller and paddle cards (can be designed and/or manufactured by CableTest or the End User).
DMUX-256	Daisy-chained 256-point solid-state 2-wire or 4-wire (programmable per point) switching matrix. Plugs into a paddle card that is specifically designed for the D.U.T. Paddle cards are easily networked by a flat ribbon cable. Requires DMUX-C4NET controller and paddle cards (can be designed and/or manufactured by CableTest or the End User).
PAT-40X4	Links up to 20 instruments to distribute throughout the entire MPT switching matrix via the external bus. Provides 2-wire and 4-wire measurements and energization capabilities with external instruments. Capture and report delay and response time of events on all MPT buses (Characterising processes on the MPT Main, Auxiliary and External bus). Provides programmable physical interconnect for the MPT External bus.
PS-036	Ideal for multiple source energization and functional testing. It offers 36 channels, each with two I/O pins. Each of the 36 channels can be configured to output up to 5A from one of four power sources. A channel can also be used as a "dry contact" to simulate a floating switch. The PS-036 can also control the power sources and a cooling fan.
SCAN-150	High speed digital discontinuity capture electronics card. Each card has 150 scan points capable of detecting 10uS opens in complex wiring harnesses. Use multiple cards together for unlimited test point expansion. Scan rate is not affected by the number of points used in a single test. SCAN-150 is also capable of performing an isolation test to detect low voltage wiring defects prior to performing the high speed discontinuity test. Features include: Isolation testing, failed test point memory and test point suspension, can co-exist in systems with other MPT Switching Modules.
XFER-050	The XFER-050 allows the transfer of up to 50 test points, on a per-point basis, from the SCAN-150 capture electronics card to your measurement instrument (e.g. DMM or LCR Bridge). Requires MPT ScanTest software.
